Zulu pot Nala familie

5 Thembi and Jabu Nala

Thembi and Jabu Nala and other women in this Nala family make beautiful Zulu pots. They make them by hand using clay from the surrounding region. Just like their mother, Nesta Nala. Thin-walled but strong pots, very dark brown in colour, unusual shapes, intricately decorated. There are many Zulu pots either for sale or in museums in Kwazulu Natal, but not like these from the Nalas. These are so beautiful that they are collected worldwide as art.
